Our Story

Some love stories begin with a grand gesture, a twist of fate, or a serendipitous moment in a faraway place. Ours? It started with a forgotten credit card.

Emma first met Bachir at the bar where he worked, exchanging smiles and casual conversation. But fate—ever so sneaky—had other plans. One night, Emma left her credit card behind, and when she returned to pick it up, Bachir saw his opportunity. With a mix of charm and confidence, he asked her out on a date. That was the moment everything changed.

From that first date, our lives became intertwined in the best possible way. We built a life filled with laughter, love, and a shared obsession with our growing little family of Sphynx babies. We started in Bayonne, where we adopted our first baby, Lola, the Princess of the house. Then, we bought our first condo in Hackensack—a place we made our own—and soon after, we welcomed Charley and Zoey into our lives. Our hearts (and our home) grew fuller with each new adventure.

But one of the most special moments? The day Bachir asked Emma to be his forever.

Knowing Emma would never expect it, he orchestrated a plan with her Maid of Honor—sending her out for a "casual" brunch while he turned their home into a place of magic. With the help of Emma’s parents and his mom, he set everything up just right. Then, as the song Home played—because for us, home isn’t just a place, it’s each other—he got down on one knee.

It was intimate, it was perfect, and it was us.

Now, as we take this next step, we do so with full hearts, knowing that every moment—big or small—is part of this beautiful journey we get to share. Because at the end of the day, no matter where we are, as long as we have each other, we’re home.
